Summary: | The method involves a protection circuit which consists of line relays at an interface. An interruption switch is positioned between the lines and ground. The line is protected against overvoltage when the relays are open and against overcurrent when the relays are closed. The line (AB) connects two points with two detecting resistors (Rd,R'd) positioned in between. Each resistor is formed between two metallisations on the upper surface of a monolithic protection component which has a third metallisation on the lower surface connected to earth. A cathode gate thyristor (l1) and an anode gate thyristor (l2) lie head-to-tail between the first metallisation layer (A) on the exchange side of the resistor and the third metallisation. The gates are connected to the metallisation (B) on the subscriber side of the resistor. A pair of oppositely oriented Zener diodes are connected between earth and either side of the resistor to trigger one or other of the thyristors. |
