Summary:A data transfer apparatus (219) is intended for a radio telephone peripheral using a time-division multiplexing databus for communication with a bus control unit of the radio telephone (201) coupled with the peripheral devices external to the radio telephone and with other devices for the input of information by the user, for example a cellular mobile radio telephone handset (203), to the central processor and to the speech processor (207) of the radio telephone. The data transfer apparatus produces timeslots within frame formats, where the information is despatched over the databus. The message which is despatched in a timeslot of a peripheral device to the bus control device is used to determine, or manage, bus access conflict. Resolution of the bus access conflict when powering up the peripheral fixes the priority, with respect to other data transfer apparatuses, with which a data transfer apparatus of a peripheral device can access the bus during normal operation.
