The modular neck comprises an insertion zone (1a) interacting with a bore (2a) of complementary shape formed angularly at the proximal level of the stem (2) and a part (1b) receiving a femoral head, characterised in that the insertion zone (1a) is connected to the part (1b) receiving the femoral head by a shape (1c) having a cross-section and profile defined to cover the upper end of the rod while joining with the general volume of the latter in its metaphyseal part. Le col modulaire comprend une portée d'emmanchement (1a) coopérant avec un alésage de forme complémentaire (2a) formé angulairement au niveau proximal de la tige (2) et une partie (1b) recevant une tête fémorale, caractérisé en ce que la portée d'emmanchement (1a) est raccordée à la partie (1b) recevant la tête fémorale, par une forme (1c) de section et de profil déterminés pour recouvrir l'extrémité supérieure de la tige en se raccordant avec le volume général de cette dernière au niveau de sa partie métaphysaire.
