Through a hollow pin (13) passes a pin (53) connecting two plates (54, 55). These two plates are parallel and connected by a tie (spacer) (56) and one of them is intended to be fixed to a support (57) carrying the tongs. The articulation is multipurpose, allowing production of manual, machine, robot or tipping-mechanism tongs, with or without a transformer.
