Summary:Process and device for the purification of a liquid containing volatile substances dissolved in trace form. This process consists in circulating this liquid in a laminar regime inside capillary fibres 5 whose outer face is in contact with a gas phase, the said fibres comprising an absorbent dense layer permeable to the dissolved substances to be extracted and exhibiting a diameter of substantially between 10 and 1000 microns so as to obtain a reduced liquid stream with a very approximately uniform distribution of the dissolved substances. Furthermore, a low partial pressure of the extracted substances, which is lower than the saturated vapour pressure of the said substances is maintained dynamically in the layers of the gas phase which are close to the fibres 5, so as to regenerate continuously the dense layer of the said fibres.
