Summary:The invention relates to a stalk-crusher/adapter which is mounted underneath the corn-ear harvester/adapter. This adapter is characterised in that there are provided on the vertical shaft transmission mechanisms, with 90 DEG deflection, which are arranged in series and which each comprise a bevel pinion, two pendular blades 2 rotating in the horizontal direction and crushing the stalks and distributing them on the ground or, after reversal of the direction of rotation, the blades crushing the stalks and depositing them in middle swaths. The invention is used on harvesters, especially for the harvesting of corn.
