Summary:Rotary sunroof of circular shape for a vehicle. This sunroof comprises a movable panel 40 which can rotate in the fixed structure of the roof of the vehicle between closed and open positions in which an opening provided in the fixed roof is respectively shut off and uncovered. The movable panel 40 is mounted in a circular chassis 20 fixed to the roof. A reversible electric motor drives a belt 42 mounted slidably in the chassis 20 in one direction or the other. Two connecting rods 60 are articulated on the opposite sides of the movable panel 40 and one end 62 of each connecting rod is connected to the belt 42 whereas the other end 64 interacts with a ramp mounted on the chassis 20 so as to raise and lower the connecting rods and the rear edge of the movable panel 40 which is securely fastened thereto.
