Summary:The knife with a fixed blade (2) has a handle (1) composed of two half shells with the blade held between them by means of a pin (3) and projections (4) from the inner surfaces of the half shells. The blade (2) is of trapezoidal form and is protected by a cover of resilient plastics (5) which projects beyond the edge of the blade. The cover which is held in place by the pin (3) has a resilient tail (11) which is located between two internal projections (12). When the blade is pressed against a workpiece the cover (5) swings about the pin (3) allowing the blade to cut in the workpiece.
