The invention is an improvement made to priming mechanisms which equip certain manual-control presses or machines intended for reloading firearm cartridges. More precisely, the device relates to a priming mechanism of the type having a rocking arm moved by the ram of a press, ensuring the transfer of a cartridge cap (primer) between a magazine and the cartridge case to be primed, and retention and locking members in the region of the magazine. The device, which is the subject of the invention, is essentially constituted by the following elements: - a hairpin spring 8 which retains the cartridge caps (primers) and delivers them one by one, - a conical-profile cam 7 which controls the opening of the spring, - a rocking arm 9 which carries two completely separate adjustable stops, one for positioning the arm 12 and the other for controlling the cam. The invention can be used for the controlled delivery of any small articles whose shapes, sizes and weights are compatible with the mechanical capacity of the system.
