Summary:The invention relates to launching small lifesaving craft under the best conditions. It allows, inter alia, the small craft to be at a sufficient distance from the ship when launched and the energy which this manoeuvre requires to be saved. The device is composed of a single davit formed by two arms 1 and 5 which are articulated together at 7. The bent arm 1 is mounted pivotably about the shaft 3 securely fixed to the ship. A cable 8 of predetermined length linking the arm 5 to the ship allows the deployment of this arm to be controlled. The small craft 9 is linked to the davit by a cable 10 reeled up on a winch. A pulley device 11-12-13 guides the cables 8 and 10. The launching of the small craft 9 is obtained by means of movements imparted to the arms 1 and 5. The movement controlled at source by means of a double-action jack 14 then continues by gravity, the jack 14 then acting as a brake preventing the small craft from being launched too abruptly. L'INVENTION CONCERNE LA MISE A L'EAU DANS LES MEILLEURES CONDITIONS, DES EMBARCATIONS DE SAUVETAGE. ELLE PERMET ENTRE AUTRES D'ELOIGNER SUFFISAMMENT DU NAVIRE L'EMBARCATION LORS DE SA MISE A L'EAU ET D'ECONOMISER L'ENERGIE QUE NECESSITE CETTE MANOEUVRE.LE DISPOSITIF EST CONSTITUE PAR UN BOSSOIR UNIQUE FORME DE DEUX BRAS 1 ET 5 ARTICULES ENTRE EUX EN 7. LE BRAS COUDE 1 EST MONTE PIVOTANT AUTOUR DE L'AXE 3 SOLIDAIRE DU NAVIRE. UN CABLE 8 DE LONGUEUR PREDETERMINEE RELIANT LE BRAS 5 AU NAVIRE PERMET DE COMMANDER LE DEPLOIEMENT DE CE BRAS. L'EMBARCATION 9 EST RELIEE AU BOSSOIR PAR UN CABLE 10 ENROULE SUR UN TREUIL. UN DISPOSITIF A POULIES 11-12-13 ASSURE LE GUIDAGE DES CABLES 8 ET 10. LA MISE A L'EAU DE L'EMBARCATION 9 EST OBTENUE AU MOYEN DES MOUVEMENTS IMPRIMES AUX BRAS 1 ET 5. LE MOUVEMENT COMMANDE A L'ORIGINE AU MOYEN DU VERIN A DOUBLE EFFET 14 SE POURSUIT ENSUITE PAR GRAVITE, LE VERIN 14 AGISSANT ALORS COMME FREIN INTERDISANT UNE MISE A L'EAU TROP BRUSQUE DE L'EMBARCATION.
