Summary:The cylindrical part of a steel converter vessel body is cooled by water circulation while the main external face of the trunnion belt is protected against external heat sources by a heat shield coupled to or slightly spaced from the belt and fixed on the belt or on the converter vessel. The shield consists of a sheet coated with a heat insulating material. The trunnion belt is completely protected against all heat sources without requiring it to be internally water-cooled. L'INVENTION CONCERNE LA PROTECTION THERMIQUE DES CEINTURES DE CONVERTISSEURS D'ACIERIE.LE DISPOSITIF SELON L'INVENTION EST CARACTERISE A LA FOIS EN CE QUE LA PARTIE CYLINDRIQUE DE LA CUVE DU CONVERTISSEUR EST REFROIDIE PAR UNE CIRCULATION D'EAU, ET EN CE QUE LA PRINCIPALE FACE EXTERNE DE LA CEINTURE EST PROTEGEE CONTRE LES SOURCES EXTERIEURES DE CHALEUR PAR UN ECRAN THERMIQUE CONSTITUE D'UNE TOLE REVETUE D'UNE EPAISSEUR CONVENABLE D'UN MATERIAU THERMIQUEMENT ISOLANT.L'INVENTION S'APPLIQUE SPECIALEMENT BIEN AUX CEINTURES DE CONVERTISSEURS D'ACIERIE, MAIS ELLE PEUT S'APPLIQUER EGALEMENT A LA PROTECTION THERMIQUE DE TOUTE PIECE DE SUPPORT OU D'ARMATURE D'UN FOUR INDUSTRIEL.
