Summary:The musical score writing system uses a TV screen in order to construct the score for a piece of music. The system includes a basic memory containing the different musical symbols, and either a keyboard, or a light pen so as to be able to choose a symbol. A musical memory is provided to store the symbols forming the score, and a character memory is used to generate the musical symbols on the screen. A synthesiser is able to reproduce the music as it is stored in the musical memory, so that the composer may hear what he has written. Internal testing circuits check the music as it is written to ensure that it does correspond with the conventional rules for writing music. If the light pen is used, then a menu of possible characters is provided on the screen for the composer to choose from.
