Summary:The passenger and baggage handling system for airports is partic. for intermediate stop situations, with simultaneous refuelling and servicing of the aircraft and conveyance of passengers and baggage from and to the aircraft. It involves parking the aircraft in a servicing area and the use of a transfer vehicle with an upper passenger and a lower baggage accommodation compartment. At the terminal departure or arrival points facilities are provided permitting direct horizontal, but separate, transit of both passengers and baggage. At the aircraft an adjustable trunk on the vehicle is connected to the cabin access for passenger movement under cover and movable aids bridge any height gap between the respective baggage compartments.
