Summary:Strongly basic, low chloride ion content anionic ion exchange resins are prepd. by treating an anionic resin in ionic chloride form and contg. a structural chlorine, with a basic soln. then with a soln. of an anion which displaces the chloride ion, converting to hydroxyl form and then rinsing with demineralised water. Improvement comprises pretreating the anionic resin with an 0.5-1.5N basic soln. at 10-30 deg.C to reduce the chloride content to 10-50%, conditioning it for at least 6 months at 10-30 deg.C until complete disappearance of the structural chlorine, again treating with a 2N basic soln. at 55-65 deg.C until a chloride content of 1-5% is obtd. and subsequently displacing the chloride ions with H2SO4 solns. of decreasing concns. at 55-65 deg.C to obtain a prod. contg. less than 50 mg chloride per kg. PROCEDE DE TRAITEMENT DE RESINES ANIONIQUES FORTEMENT BASIQUES DESTINEES A LA FABRICATION D'ECHANGEURS D'IONS AYANT UNE FAIBLE TENEUR EN IONS CHLORURE AFIN D'OBTENIR UN PRODUIT DIT DE QUALITE "NUCLEAIRE".
