Summary:The pure boron thermistor consists of a central electrode of a refractory metal (1) surrounded by a boron cylinder (4) carrying at each end an electrode of a transition metal (2, 3). Leads (5, 6) are brought into these electrodes through a protective resin coating (7). The length and diameter of the thermistor are preferably between 1 and 5mm and 0.1 and 1.0mm respectively. The thermistor manufacture consists of boron deposition on a refractory filament, electrolytic deposition of a transition metal, resin encapsulation and chemical or electro-chemical etching or non-protected areas.
