Summary: | The circuit has a picture signal source, at least one luminance circuit and a protective circuit protecting the screen from burning out. The protective circuit is connected to a protective switch completely or partly suppressing the luminance signal generated in the video circuit. A detector detects changes in the signal from the picture signal source and a timer start input is connected to the detector, and timer output signal is applied to the protective switch control input, so that the switch is off when the detector has detected no changes during a time interval detrmined by the timer.
