A cathode assembly for an electron beam welding gun comprises a disc cathode mounted in the sleeve of a holder seated in the cavity of a tubular outer curent lead. A tubular inner current lead is mounted coaxially inside the outer lead and a flat heating coil is seated in a recess in the inner lead. Another current lead in the form of a rod with a stepped cavity is mounted coaxially inside the inner tube and the bent corrugated end of the heating coil is seated in the cavity of this lead. The flat heating coil is easily produced and can be easily replaced in the cathode assembly. L'invention concerne la technique des faisceaux électroniques. L'ensemble cathodique faisant l'objet de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que la spirale 17 de chauffage de la cathode 1 est une spirale plane comportant une extrémité centrale 18 relevée perpendiculairement au plan de ladite spirale et présentant des ondulations le long de son axe, l'une 14 des pièces d'amenée de courant à la spirale 17, dans laquelle s'engage ladite extrémité centrale relevée perpendiculairement au plan de la spirale 17, étant réalisée sous la forme d'une tige comportant une cavité étagée le long de son axe, tandis que l'autre pièce d'amenée de courant 12 est réalisée sous la forme d'un tube comportant à son extrémité orientée vers la cathode 1 une gorge circulaire intérieure 13 dans laquelle est engagée la spire extérieure de ladite spirale de chauffage. L'invention permet notamment d'augmenter la fiabilité et de simplifier la fabrication des pièces d'amenée de courant.
