Summary:In a process for hydroforming or for recovery of aromatic hydrocarbons at 480-500 degrees C, in presence of a catalyst, the feed, contg. hydrocarbons and H2 is circulated through is not 2 moving bed reaction zones; the catalyst moves continuously downwards through these zones and is passed into a regeneration zone. The regenerated catalyst (a) passes downwards in a zone, sepd. from the reaction zones, where it is treated with H2 at the reaction temp. (b) passed continuously into a sulphiding zone, sepd. from the H2 treatment zone and the reaction zone, where it is treated with a S cpd. at the reaction temp., and (c) flows continuously into the reaction zone. The process is used for reforming, or prodn. of aromatic hydrocarbons from unsatd. benzines or from naphthenic hydrocarbons. Treatment with H2 and with a S cpd. can be carried out at optimum temps., independent of the reaction temp. Risk of explosion is reduced, since the redn. zone is sepd. from the reaction zones.
