Summary:In forming glass filaments by drawing molten glass through bushing tips which are colled by fins connected to a fluid circulating cooled bar, short term yardage variation in the filaments is prevented by a second cooling bar positioned so as to be adjustable horizontally and vertically in relation to the tips and fins. The extra cooling provides uniform dia. filaments which produce good quality glass fibre fabric. Adjusting the position of the extra cooling bar also allows either a controlled air stream across the tips from above the extra cooling bar on blockage of the air stream when the extra bar contacts the bottom of the bushing. La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de filaments de verre. Ce procédé consiste à étirer des filaments de verre à partir de cônes de verre fondu en dessous de buses de filage placées dans une filière. On empêche une variation dimensionnelle des filaments étirés en plaçant une seconde barre de refroidissement 23 dans laquelle on fait passer un fluide de transmission de chaleur, ladite barre 23 étant adjacente aux buses avant 13 et on contrôle un courant d'air s'écoulant sur la barre de refroidissement et transversalement aux buses de filage en espaçant la barre desdites buses afin de créer un environnement plus uniforme en dessous des buses de filage. Application : fabrication de fibres pour tissu de verre.
