Summary:The roller is in the form of a hollow cylinder, inside which two sets of two discs are mounted. The discs support shafts which protrude from the cylinder ends and which in turn are supported on ball bearings. Ring shaped covers are mounted at the ends of the hollow cylinder which are shaped so that there is an annular gap between the inside diameter of the cover and the support shafts. Coolant inlet and outlet pipes are mounted so that they enter the cylinder through the annular gaps between the covers and the shafts. Holes round the circumference of the support discs make it possible for the coolant to flow right through the cylinder and cool the whole surface of the cylinder, thereby increasing the life of the roller. L'invention concerne le laminage des tôles. Le rouleau de transporteur faisant l'objet de l'invention est du type constitué par un corps cylindrique creux 2 fixé par l'intermédiaire de moyeux 3 sur des demi-essieux 4 montés sur les appuis de palier 5 dudit transporteur à rouleaux, et est caractérisé en ce que le corps cylindrique creux 2 possède, à chacune de ses faces en bout, un couvercle 7 disposé coaxialement audit corps et comportant un orifice central 8 dont le diamètre est sensiblement inférieur au diamètre extérieur desdits moyeux, chacun de ces derniers comportant suivant sa périphérie des canaux débouchants 10, ledit couvercle formant avec le demi-essieu correspondant une fente circulaire pour le passage du fluide refroidissant à travers l'enceinte du corps du rouleau. L'invention s'applique notamment aux transporteurs à rouleaux de sortie des laminoirs produisant de larges bandes à chaud.
