Summary:The digital coder, for analogue signals, divides the signals into consecutive groups, inverts these groups and/or rearranges them amongst themselves. The groups are delineated by the points in time when the signal assumes a given value or when the signal and the sign of its first derivative have given values. The analogue signal is converted into digital samples. The samples are inverted and/or permutated using a digital memory. The memory is read and the samples transformed into signals for transmission. The reverse process takes place at the receiver.
