Summary: | The burning head has a base supported on the inner surface of a welded tube via rollers and pivotally connected to an elongate body which has a cutting tool holder on its free end, the depth of cut of the cutting tool being limited by support rollers on the free end of the body. A pivotal flat spring on the base moves the body for cutting and contacts a wedge element between the base and the spring, the wedge element being connected to a head propulsion link. The spring and wedge element have a cooperating recess and protrusion so that as the link moves in one direction out of the tube the tool and body rollers do not contact the tube but as the link moves in the reverse direction they are pressed against the tube. The base is spring loaded in the axial direction. |
