Hydro dealkylation of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons - on catalysts contg. group V111 metals and a second metal component

The hydrodealkylation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons is carried out in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) a support, at least one metal selected from Co, Ru, Os, Pd, Rh, Ir and PT, and 0.05-5 wt. % of Mn, or (b) a support, 0.05-20 (pref. 1-17) wt. % Co, and at least one metal selected from Cu,...

Summary:The hydrodealkylation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons is carried out in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) a support, at least one metal selected from Co, Ru, Os, Pd, Rh, Ir and PT, and 0.05-5 wt. % of Mn, or (b) a support, 0.05-20 (pref. 1-17) wt. % Co, and at least one metal selected from Cu, Ag, Au, La, Se, Nd, Pr, Sm, Eu, U, Th, Y, Ce, Ti, Hf, Nb, Ta and Mn. The process is carried out at 400-650 degrees C (pref. 500-620 degrees C), and 1-30 (pref. 1-20) kg/cm2, with an LGSV of 1-10 (pref. 2-8) and an H2/hydrocarbon molar ratio of 1-10 (pref. 3-8).
