Summary: | Heat-resisting material contg. a filler consisting of metal oxides which are difficult to melt and which are in the form of single crystals, the novelty being that the single crystals possess a reduced size. The matl. pref. has a matrix consisting of: (a) ceramic, (b) cermet, (c) a heat-resisting metal or alloy, or (d) refractory concrete, and the pref. amt. of the small, metal oxide single crystals employed is 1-90 wt %, the pref. particle size of the crystals being 2 mm-1 mu. The filler increases the resistance to thermal shock, oxidn. and corrosion exhibited by refractory matls. and also raises their mechanical strength. |
