Summary:The pump having a horizontal motor, is provided with an end cover which has an outward extension with central core for the motor shaft. Between the pump housing and the motor there is a round distance piece with two flanges, one of which is secured on the pump end cover and the other carries the motor. The flanges are rigidly connected by metal spokes or arms. A conventional gland is provided between the rotating motor shaft and the inner wall of a hollow chamber at the motor end of the pump cover extension.
