Summary: | The invention relates to a novel elastic, biodegradable material and to a process for producing it. The composition of the elastic copolymer is based on lactic acid and a hydroxyacid having a long, flexible hydrocarbon chain, a lactone, a diacid or a diol, and also a bifunctional monomer whose role is to function as a coupling substance. The polymer is hydrolytically degradable and can be used, inter alia, in surgery, in the controlled dosing of medicines, in coating paper, in producing wrapping films, in injection-moulded products, in producing heat-moulded and blow-moulded packing, bags and bottles, in producing fibre and non-woven fabric, and also in coatings, binding agents and hot-melt adhesives of various types. |
