The high-voltage fitting comprises a conductor for conducting an electric current, a cable insulation (12) surrounding the conductor, an insulation (2) comprising a field control part (3), which is partially arranged to surround the cable isolation, and a fiber optic sensor (20) mechanically coupled with the field control part, where the sensor is arranged to detect a mechanical deformation in the insulation and to detect mechanical vibrations having frequencies of 10-500 kHz. The fiber optic sensor is a sound sensor, a strain sensor and/or a bending sensor, comprises an elastomer, and is partially embedded in the field control part and/or is arranged on a surface of the field control part. The insulation further comprises an insulating region that surrounds the field control part and is partially embedded in the fiber optic sensor. An independent claim is included for a method for detecting a partial discharge in an insulation of a high-voltage fitting.
