Summary:The present invention describes a system for detecting outages in negative conductor cables and leakage currents in negative conductor cables (8) in electrical installations of a railway network (7). More specifically, this system comprises: at least one intensity transducer (3) to be installed in at least one of the negative conductor cables (8) of the negative sink of the electrical installation, wherein the intensity transducer (3) is linked to a control unit (4) which is in turn linked to a warning unit (5). Thus, when outages or leakage currents in the negative conductor cable (8) occur, they are detected and notified to an operator.
