El método comprende los pasos de dirigir luz desde una fuente de luz (1) hacia un medio plasmónico, para excitar una resonancia de plasmón superficial, y analizar luz proveniente de dicho medio plasmónico (4). Como fuente de luz (1) se usa un diodo láser, y se varía periódicamente la longitud de onda de la luz emitida por el diodo láser. La invención también se refiere a un dispositivo correspondiente.
