Method for detecting glycogen by means of fluorescence based on the incorporation of a glucose fluorescent indicator into glycogen. The method may be performed on tissue homogenates or on live cells obtained from organs or cell cultures. It consists of various rapidly executed steps: 1) sample preparation 2) fluorescent labelling of the glycogen and 3) recording the fluorescence. The greater the intensity of the fluorescence, the higher the glycogen content. Applicable to the scientific/health field as a drug-evaluation method. Método para la detección de glucógeno por fluorescencia. Se basa en la incorporación de un indicador fluorescente de glucosa al glucógeno. Se puede realizar en homogenizados de tejidos o en células vivas obtenidas a partir de órganos o de cultivos celulares. Consiste en varias etapas de rápida ejecución. 1) Preparación de la muestra 2) Marcaje fluorescente del glucógeno 3) Registro de la fluorescencia. Cuanto mayor es la intensidad de la fluorescencia más elevado es el contenido de glucógeno. Tiene aplicación científico-sanitaria, como evaluación de fármacos.
