Secuencia reguladora de la expresión de un gen en meristemos axilares de plantas y sus aplicaciones. Se ha identificado una secuencia de aproximadamente 1,7 kilobases que comprende el promotor del gen BRANCHED 1 de Arabidopsis thaliana capaz de dirigir específicamente la expresión axilar pero no apical de un gen de interés. El empleo de dicha secuencia permite manipular genéticamente las plantas y obtener plantas con arquitectura vegetal modificada debido a una alteración en el crecimiento o desarrollo de sus meristemos axilares, por ejemplo, promoviendo o inhibiendo el desarrollo de los meristemos axilares y/o reemplazando ramas por flores.
