Summary:Single-phase alternating-direct current converter with power factor correction. The converter, in which the power factor correction is performed in an active manner and in a single phase, can be represented by two internal converters. The first of these is a Flyback type converter that has two output diodes and distributes part of the input energy to the load via DS1, and the rest of the energy is stored in C1 using the DAUX auxiliary diode. The second converter supplies, in a complementary manner, the output via the DS2 diode from C1, allowing, during the entire network cycle, the load to be supplied with constant voltage. The power factor correction device allows, as an important characteristic, the C1 voltage to be indifferently greater than or less than the output voltage, VO.
