Summary:For the automatic insertion of sticks (1), in particular glue sticks, which are brought along in a vertical position from a filling unit (14), into a separately conveyed tray (2), the sticks (1) are gathered in at least two rows of sticks (1) in a pre-accumulation section (3), from where they are fed in groups to an accumulation section (27), and a handling device (5) which is equipped with a gripper head (28) takes them from the accumulation section (27) and inserts them into a tray (2) which is prepared exactly in a filling station (7). The tray (2) charged with sticks (1) is conveyed away from the filling station (7) by means of a delivery conveyor belt (13). ……
