The present disclosure relates to a method for non-contact processing on a ribbon-like article (N), this method comprising the following steps: providing at least two operating units (2) configured to perform non-contact processing on the non-contact ribbon-like article (N), said operating units (2) being movable along a loop path (3); providing the operating units (2) with a set of processing instructions on the basis of which to carry out a predetermined non-contact processing on the ribbon-like article (N); advancing the non-contact ribbon-like article (N) on a conveyor device; performing by at least one of said operating units (2) the predetermined non-contact processing on the ribbon- like article (N); providing one of the operating units (2) with a further set of processing instructions on the ribbon-like article (N) when said operating unit (2) transits along a reset portion (32) of the loop path (3); performing by said operating unit (2) the further predetermined non-contact processing provided.
