Summary: | The invention relates to a container runtime environment (3), having: - container application instances (C), - container monitoring instances (ET-C), wherein the container monitoring instances (ET-C) are designed to monitor the container application instances (C), wherein the monitoring of the container application instances (C) is divided into monitoring tasks, each monitoring task being associated with at least one privilege which exclusively enables an execution of the monitoring task to which it is assigned, wherein the execution of the monitoring task comprises an enforcement of an associated set of rules, wherein the container monitoring instances (ET-C) are each assigned a monitoring task, and wherein the container monitoring instances (ET-C) each have at least one privilege associated with their monitoring task.
