Summary:A cupholder system for a vehicle has a cupholder assembly 101 with a cupholder opening 102; a lid 106 to cover the cupholder opening 102 in a closed position (CP, fig 3), and uncover the cupholder opening 102 in an open position (OP, fig 7); and an actuation system in dependence on an electrical signal that deploys the lid 106 in a path to the open position and deploys the cupholder assembly in a path from the stowed position (SP) to a deployed position (DP, fig 6). There can be a second cupholder opening 104 and a mechanism to link a shared actuator to the lid 106 and to the cupholder assembly 101.
