Summary:The present invention provides a method for preventing high energy usage peaks when using electric or electronic appliances. The method comprises defining an energy usage peak threshold ETH and household routings as recurring energy usage at the same time frames, from historical energy usage, household routines. The method further comprises continuously determining (Routine * Weight + Avg * (1-Weight)) within a time frame (TF) with a start time (TS) and an end time (TE) with Routine being energy consumption prediction for the current time frame (TF), Avg the average energy consumption from the start of the current time frame (TF) until the current point in time, and weight equals being the time elapsed during the current time frame. The result is compared to the energy usage peak threshold. If reached or surpassed, a first electric or electronic appliance may be switched off.
