Summary:The beam shaper (25A) includes a mode conversion device (27), a collimating lens (28), and a focusing lens (30). The mode conversion device (27) refracts, among laser beams (LB) of incident divergent light, laser beams incident on an outer peripheral side of a central portion (31c) about an optical axis towards the optical axis (Ax) to emit as outer peripheral side beams (NDB1), and emits the laser beams incident on the central portion (31c) as central beams (NDB2) having an angle of emergence equal to an angle of incidence. A collimating lens (28) converts the outer peripheral side beams (NDB1) and the central beams (NDB2) emitted from the mode conversion device (27) into collimated light. A focusing lens (30) focuses the outer peripheral side beams (NDB1) and the central beams (NDB2) emitted from the collimating lens (28) .
