Summary:The systems and methods described herein relate to indoor positioning systems and methods of performing high accuracy indoor positioning. More specifically, provided are indoor positioning systems comprising a positioning platform communicatively coupled to a backend device that utilizes coded location identifiers and indoor positioning datasets generated by the backend device to determine the position of a mobile device operating the positioning platform to a high degree of accuracy. In embodiments, the indoor positioning system can include a plurality of geolocation beacons distributed throughout one or more buildings that emit location identifiers for use in determining the mobile device's location. Also provided are methods of detecting an indoor position of a mobile electronic device within an environment having multiple positioning-enabled buildings located closely together.
