Summary:The invention relates to a rotor (1) of an electric machine, having a rotor body (3) that can be rotated about a rotor axis (2) and multiple permanent magnet rotor poles (4), each of which has a central pole axis (5). Each rotor pole (4) is divided into two pole halves (4.1) by the respective central pole axis (5), and each rotor pole (4) has a two-layer magnet assembly (6) comprising multiple magnets, an inner layer (6.1) of magnets and an outer layer (6.2) of magnets. The inner layer (6.1) has at least four outer central magnets (7.1), and the outer layer (6.2) has two. All of the outer central magnets (7.1) of the outer layer (6.2) are arranged at a diagonal angle (ɑ) relative to the central pole axis (5). Additionally, at least one central magnet (7.2) which is symmetrical with respect to the central pole axis (5) is arranged between the outer central magnets (7.1).
