Summary:This design method for a target object includes: an acquisition step for acquiring information pertaining to the state of reflection and scattering of electromagnetic waves on a target object in a case in which the electromagnetic waves are irradiated onto the target object; an identification step for identifying, on the basis of the information, a portion at which predetermined reflection and scattering occur on the target object; a change step for changing a surface state of the portion at which the predetermined reflection and scattering occur on the target object so that the predetermined reflection and scattering at the portion at which the predetermined reflection and scattering occur on the target object are suppressed; and a verification step for verifying the states of the predetermined reflection and scattering of the electromagnetic waves on the target object in a case in which the electromagnetic waves are irradiated onto the target object having the changed surface state.
