The present invention relates to a punching device for punching an initial stack consisting of sheet-like material, in particular for punching labels out of an initial stack consisting of sheet-like material, in which the punching device has a punching region and a movable punch for pressing the initial stack into a contour punching blade (4a, 4b, 4c) located in the punching region, in order to form a usable stack as the contour punching blade (4a, 4b, 4c) located in the punching region passes through the initial stack. The punching device has at least two contour punching blades (4a, 4b, 4c), the at least two contour punching blades (4a, 4b, 4c) being mounted in a common holding device (10), the holding device (10) being movable relative to the punching region, and in one movement position of the holding device (10) one of the at least two contour punching blades (4a, 4b, 4c) is located in the punching region and in another movement position of the holding device (10) the other one of the at least two contour punching blades (4a, 4b, 4c) is located in the punching region.
