Summary:In one exemplary embodiment, a combustor liner (110; 210, 215; 310) includes a first portion (114; 214; 314) extending in a substantially axial direction and a second portion (116; 216; 316) that extending in the substantially axial direction. A step (120; 220; 320) connects the first portion (114; 214; 314) and the second portion (116; 216; 316). The step (120; 220; 320) is arranged at an angle (θ) to the second portion (116; 216; 316) that is less than 90°. The step (120; 220; 320) has a step height (H) defined as a distance between the first portion (114; 214; 314) and the second portion (116; 216; 316). The first portion (114; 214; 314), second portion (116; 216; 316), and step (120; 220; 320) are formed as a unitary ceramic component. A slot (140; 240; 340; 440) extends through the step (120; 220; 320), and a ratio of a height (D) of the slot (140; 240; 340; 440) to the height (H) of the step (120; 220; 320) is greater than 0.66.
