A flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer (1) includes: a flame generation unit configured to generate flame by combusting mixed gas of a sample and combustion gas; a burner head (124) having a slit-shaped opening (slit (125)) from which the flame blows out; a light source (11) configured to emit measurement light having a wavelength band including a predetermined wavelength through a longitudinal path in plate-shaped flame (92) blowing out from the opening; a measurement unit (detector (14)) configured to measure intensity of measurement light (913) that has passed through the plate-shaped flame; and an image capturing unit (camera (15)) configured to capture an image of one side surface of the plate-shaped flame.
