Summary:The technical solution of the present invention belongs to the area of vehicle undercarriage inspection systems, such as train undercarriage inspection systems, utilizing automated visual inspection. Accordingly, the present invention solves the problem with an autonomous system for vehicle undercarriage inspection, which can be performed directly from under the vehicle, while it is in regular service. Specifically, based on at least one obtained digital image of an undercarriage, an actual position of the optical means for obtaining the image relative to the undercarriage is determined, as well as activation of the first moving means to move a movable device and thus optical means to a new position, based on the determined actual position.
