Summary:There are provided measures for support of emergency short message service messages. Such measures exemplarily comprise, at a session control entity in a first public land mobile network serving a terminal, receiving, from said terminal, a first message, said first message comprising an encoded short message service message and requested delivery information including general emergency destination information, analyzing said first message to determine whether said first message is an emergency message, and based on said analyzing, determining said first message is an emergency message, selecting an emergency short message service handling capable emergency session control entity in said first public land mobile network, and transmitting said first message to said emergency session control entity and further on to an emergency short message capable IP short message gateway.
