More Information
Summary:The invention relates to a biocomposite comprising a bioplastic and micronized fibers of bleached eucalyptus Kraft pulp, as a simple and sustainable alternative to composites with petrochemical-based components for application in the industries of automotive, furniture, aerospace, construction, musical instruments, home appliances and electronic components, packaging, among others. The biocomposite includes micronized fibers of bleached eucalyptus Kraft pulp in a percentage by weight of 5% to 60%. The fibers have an aspect ratio of 11.0 to 30.0.The biocomposite is entirely biologically based and presents dispersion, homogeneity, tensile strengths, and increased tensile and flexural modulus compared to biocomposites with non-micronized fibers.
