Summary:Embodiments of this application provide a resource mapping method and apparatus, applied to the field of short-range communication. The method includes: determining a first mapping mode in a plurality of mapping modes, where the plurality of mapping modes further include a second mapping mode; and mapping, by the first mapping mode, a first modulation symbol sequence carried in a first time unit. A plurality of modulation symbols in the first modulation symbol sequence are mapped to a plurality of subcarriers by the first mapping mode. Each subcarrier is used to map one modulation symbol. The first mapping mode and the second mapping mode represent different mapping locations of the plurality of modulation symbols on the plurality of subcarriers. According to embodiments of this application, impact of frequency selective fading on data transmission efficiency can be reduced, a diversity gain can be improved, and a quantity of retransmission times and a data transmission delay can be reduced. The resource mapping method and apparatus may be applied to industries such as smart vehicles, smart home, and smart manufacturing.
