Summary: | The present invention relates to a method for producing an aqueous dipping composition for textile reinforcing materials, particularly cords, characterized by the steps of- adding at least one polymer functional groups selected from carboxylic acid groups, sulfonic acid groups or phosphoric acid groups, into water,- adjusting the pH value until pH 5-11 by adding a volatile base,- adding at least one latex, wherein the at least one latex is a vinyl pyridine (VP) latex,- optionally adding at least one rubber modifier selected from the group consisting of carbon black, silica, lignin, pottery clay powder, mica powder, kaolin, bentonite, liquid paraffin, solid paraffin, or wax or combinations thereof, to the composition,- obtaining the aqueous dipping composition, wherein the solid-based weight ratio of the latex to the polymer with functional groups selected from carboxylic acid groups, sulfonic acid groups or phosphoric acid groups, is at least 5 and the remainder of the dipping solution is the volatile base used for pH adjustment and water and optionally rubber modifier, with the proviso that the obtained dipping composition is essentially free of resorcinol, formaldehyde, epoxy and isocyanate. |
