Summary:Disclosed is a device (100) for monitoring a component of the air, the device comprising a plurality of sensors (140) for acquiring values of environmental parameters, characterised in that the device (100) further comprises: a consumable sensor (135) for acquiring concentration values of the component, the consumable sensor (135) having a predetermined life span and a computer (120) for: in a first learning phase, establishing a concentration model of the component by establishing a correlation between concentration values of the component acquired by the consumable sensor (135) and values of environmental parameters acquired by the plurality of sensors (140) and, in a monitoring phase, estimating the concentration of the component by using the established model and the values of environmental parameters acquired by the plurality of sensors (140).
